Mrs. Azzie L. Ray Silvers, 97, of Cartersville, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2020.
Azzie was born in Jasper, GA on September 1, 1922, to the late Mr. Henry Haden Ray and Mrs. Bertha Rogers Ray.
Azzie was a devoted mother and wife. She loved spending time with her friends and family. One of her greatest joys was being "Mimie" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and was a member of Rolling Springs Baptist Church for over 10 years. Azzie had an infectious smile that could light up a room and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Azzie is preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Boyd Silvers, her parents, brother, Herbert Ray, and son-in-law, A.L. Mercer.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Mercer; sons, Charles Silvers, and Ronnie (Brenda) Silvers; grandchildren, Brian (Beth) Mercer, Dana (Kevin) McElwee, Read (Pam) Silvers, and Jodie (Brian) Hovers; great-grandchildren, Lily and Jack Mercer, Caitlyn and Allison Silvers, Ally and Kase McElwee, Brenna (Matt) Stokes, Braylan Silvers, and Trevin and Georgia Hovers, sister, Willie Mae Mullinax and brother, Herman Ray.
A Private graveside for Mrs. Silvers will be conducted at Oak Hill Cemetery on Friday, March 27, 2020, with the Rev. Joe Ringwold officiating.
