Mason Boswell the latest dual-threat for Tigers

Boswell has come into his own this season as the leader of the Tigers’ offense, showing off dual-threat abilities reminiscent of another recent Adairsville quarterback, Marcus Childers.

Marcus Childers starts at quarterback for Northern Illinois University, and has the Huskies bowl-eligible as a redshirt freshman. He is a dual threat quarterback who made his mark at Adairsville High School — by his senior year, he knew what the next call would be before it came down.

Katie Lawhorn’s moves school defenders, earn ride to college

Adairsville midfielder Katie Lawhorn fired off a roughly 35-yard free kick in a Sweet 16 game against Jackson last May. The ball flew by the hapless keeper into the corner of the net, and, as assistant coach Lance Hall described, “You could see the smoke coming off the ball as it went in.”
