Josie Summerville’s double-double wasn’t enough for the Adairsville Lady Tigers Tuesday, as they lost 77-42 on the road to 10th-ranked North Murray.
Summerville finished with 14 points and “double-digit” rebounds, per coach Michael Roberson, but was the only Lady Tiger in double figures scoring.
Breeana Wilson finished with six and Nakiyah Washington had five.
The offensive troubles started early for Adairsville, as the Lady Tigers scored just six points in the first quarter, going down 15-6.
They scored 15 and 14, respectively, in the second and third, but North Murray’s offense also stepped up to match them, as the Lady Mountaineers scored 24 points in the second and 22 in the third to run away with it.
The Lady Tigers fell to 1-7 and 0-3 in region. They’ll play again on Friday, hosting Murray County at 7 p.m.
North Murray 57, Adairsville boys 53
Hunter Hice and Gaven Crunkelton each had 12 points Tuesday night at North Murray, but it was not enough as the Tigers lost a closely-contested ballgame by a score of 57-53.
The Tigers came out hot and hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter, two each by Crunkelton and Mason Boswell, but only hit one the rest of the game.
Adairsville is now 1-6 overall and 0-2 in Region 6-AAA, and will next play Murray County at home on Friday.
