Cartersville bounced back from a loss to blank Gordon Central, 10-0, in girls high school soccer play Thursday. Chad Murray, Cartersville head coach, said he was curious how the Lady Purple Hurricanes would respond to the 5-3 loss to highly regarded Rome, a member of Region 5-AAAAA. “I was glad we rebounded from the loss,” he said. “I think we played a little angry and that was good to see.” He added Gordon Central was missing some starters and that might have affected their play some.
