Woman charged in fatal crash

Three people were injured and one person killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday night in Adairsville.

Georgia State Patrol Public Information Officer Gordy Wright said about 8:30 p.m. a pickup truck traveling west on Highway 140 at Big Oak Tree Road crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Mercedes head-on.

Nim Bernal Russell, 55, of Adairsville was driving the Mercedes and died in the crash.

A passenger in the car and the driver — Michelle Blum, 47, of Adairsville — and a passenger in the pickup truck were transported for treatment. The injured have been taken to Floyd Medical in Rome.

Blum has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, serious injury by vehicle, driving on the wrong side of the road and driving without headlights.
