Johnny Lamar Brown, a Cartersville resident, has gone missing in Myrtle Beach, S.C., according to his family and Myrtle Beach police.

According to Myrtle Beach police he was last seen leaving his hotel Friday, Aug. 3 when he was going for a walk. He did not take his wallet and did not have a cell phone. A flyer put out in Myrtle Beach describes him as a black, 44-year-old man who is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 146 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts, a green and white striped shirt, black socks and flip flops.

Myrle Beach police also said Brown has a severe speech impediment that is difficult to understand.

He was staying with his family on South Ocean Boulevard. His mother, according to the police report, said he should still have his hotel room key, but it has no identifying marks that would make it obvious where his was staying.
