Two local fitness facilities, CrossFit Adrenaline and Boot Camp, will each host fundraising workout sessions this week to raise money for the families involved in a fatal Murray County car crash.

The crash took the lives of two young brothers — Mason Greene, 12, and Zach Greene, 6. The boys’ cousin, Dylan Webb, 13, and mother, Susan Greene, were also critically injured in the crash and are being treated at Hamilton Medical Center. All proceeds raised will go to the families of the crash victims.

Each fitness center will host their own fundraising workout session. They also will raise money for different car crash victims. Boot Camp will raise money for Dylan Webb and his family, while CrossFit Adrenaline will host a memorial workout of the day (WOD) for Zach and Mason Greene.

“Stephen Webb, the father, is a family friend and he isn’t leaving Dylan’s side until he is healed,” said Alesha Jackson, co-owner of Boot Camp. “We felt awful for the loss of income and thought maybe that was the least we could do for him as a community.”

The fundraising Boot Camp Class is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8:30 a.m. and is for all fitness levels. Participants should bring water and a towel or yoga matt. The class will cost $20 and all proceeds will go to Dylan’s family.

“This workout will be fun; it’s to celebrate Dylan’s life,” Jackson said.

CrossFit Adrenalin will host the “Zach and Mason Greene Memorial WOD.” The WOD will raise money for the family of the two boys killed in the car accident. A Gordon County EMT and firefighter is a member of the CrossFit Adrenalin team and is friends with the father of Zach and Mason Greene.

“With all the CrossFit facilities across the world now, it’s becoming a big deal to do memorial workouts in response to anything tragic that happens around the area,” said Lindsay Bourdon, head coach and co-owner of CrossFit Adrenaline.

CrossFit Adrenaline will host the session on Friday, Jan. 11. There will be four separate WODs, each $10. WODs will be modified for all fitness levels and will start at 8:15 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.

If you cannot attend the workout sessions, both facilities will be taking donations. Donations can also be made at the Northside Bank in Calhoun to the Zach and Mason Greene Memorial Fund.
