According to the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office incident report, the complainant said she came across the gun while walking on the sidewalk in front of the post office. At first the complainant thought it was a toy gun, so she picked it up and walked home with it. Once she got home, the complainant realized it was real, so she called 911.
The deputy ran the gun’s serial number, but did not find any record. According to the report, the gun did not have a magazine and its handle was broken. The complainant said the handle was broken when she found it. She also removed one round from the chamber.
The deputy recovered the round and turned the gun into evidence at BCSO.
