“I requested to GDOT the signs/flashers be installed on June 4th. GDOT called me on July 25 and told me they were not going to put the signs/flashers up that we would have to provide/pay for the signs/flashers and we would have to have them installed — also the signs/flashers had to meet their specifications,” Director of Transportation Jody Elrod said, in an email correspondence.
Elrod said he has worked to secure a company to provide and install the signs/flashers and the items arrived last week.
In the same correspondence, Dee Corson of GDOT said it will take the department “a few weeks” to process the request and to grant approval.
