Suspect sought concerning armed robbery

On Friday, Nov. 16, at about 10:53 p.m., a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office deputy was dispatched to the Citgo at the corner of North Tennessee Street and West Felton Road, Cartersville, in reference to an armed robbery that occurred at 107 E. Felton Road, Cartersville.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the victim who stated he was walking up East Felton Road, near the incident location, going back to The Crown Inn where he is staying. According to his statement in the BCSO incident report, he was approached by a young black male, who reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver hand gun and pointed it at his face.

According to the incident report, the suspect yelled to him, “Old man, don’t make me kill you! Give me your wallet!” He yelled to him several more times, “Don’t make me hurt you!” The victim immediately gave him his wallet, which contained $160 in cash and his identification card, then the suspect ran toward Carmike Cinemas.

The victim ran over to the Citgo to call 911 from a pay phone. He gave the following description — young black male, 5 feet 8 inches, 120 pounds, 18 to 20 years old, wearing a black or gold colored hoody with the Saints football emblem on the front, a baseball cap matching the hoody with the same emblem, dark colored pants, white high top tennis shoes and a gold bracelet on his right wrist.

A be on the lookout notice was issued for the suspect immediately to all responding county, city and Georgia State Patrol units.
