The Cartersville Twisters Men’s Gymnastics Team was a force to be reckoned with at the 2012 Judges Cup in Cobb County, their first meet of the 2012-13 competition season.

Morgan Grizzle, Alex Milligan, Sam Bernstein and Nate Hardy dominated the competition for Level 4.

Morgan and Alex finished at first and second all-around, respectively, in the 7-to 8-year-old category. Morgan took first in four events while Alex took second in the pommel.

Sam claimed three second-place finishes and also finished in third place all-around for 6-year-olds. Nate, his teammate, placed first in all six of his events, beating out even the most experienced gymnasts in the competition. Nate finished with an impressive all-around score of 64.5; the highest score in the meet for a Level 4 competitor of any age.

Together, the Level 4 Boys Team took home the first-place trophy.

The Level 5 Team also put on an impressive show even though several of their members were new to their level. Evan Gordon, Blake Lieberman, Nick Pitts and Grant Lewis all moved to Level 5 from Level 4 over the summer. Evan posted third-place finishes on pommel and high bar. The senior members of the Level 5 Team, Andrew Pitts and Garrison Hardy, led the way for the team’s fourth-place finish. Andrew earned a first-place finish on vault and Hardy bagged two first-place finishes, a second-place finish and also a first-place all-around among 9- to 10-year old athletes.

At Level 6, Will Getchell finished in first place in parallel bars and in second place on the pommel. Will also finished in first place all-around among 11-year-old competitors. Joseph Gordon earned the first-place medal on both still rings and high bar and third all-around.

In the optional division Level 8, Anton Stetsenko took third place on high bar, Brady Malone claimed five first-place finishes in his events among Level 8 competitors and Brady also took the first-place all-around finish for Level 8 competitors.
