Through May 13, the annual Bartow County and Cartersville City Schools Art Show is enabling budding young artists to showcase their work in a Smithsonian Affiliate. On display in the Booth Western Art Museum's Borderlands Gallery, the show highlights about five works from each participating elementary school.

"My background is in art education in public schools and I believe in the importance of the arts and the development of the child," said Lisa Wheeler, director of education for the Booth. "And I want to support the art teachers in the schools that are doing that same thing by hosting [the show] here at the museum. Then the other part of that is to inspire the students."
