Already down two sets to none to the Blessed Trinity Lady Titans in their best-of-three series, the Lady Canes led for much of the third set before being tied, 19-19.
“Then it was 20-20, 21-21 and then 24-23 Blessed Trinity,” coach Camille Spradley said.
Then it was over.
The Lady Titans won 25-11, 25-14 and 25-23 Tuesday night on their home court.
“We finally made the corrections we needed to make in that third set,” Spradley said. “They are a team that finds your weakness and moves you all over the court.”
They were also a team who were determined to neutralize the Lady Canes’ strengths as well.
“We were a little nervous heading in to the match,” Spradley said. “We knew they would key on Katie (O’Connor) and try to limit her kills.”
O’Conner had nine kills, while Stefanie Will had six kills. Mallory Walker led the Lady Canes with 10 digs.
