A Cartersville Chevron was broken into Monday, and three rolls of lottery tickets were taken after burglar smashed through a window of the business with a rock.According to a Bartow County Sheriff’s Office report, a deputy was dispatched to 5661 Highway 20 in Cartersville after receiving a call of a burglary when the store’s alarm went off.
According to the report, a large rock was found inside the store and was believed to be how the burglary gained entry. After sweeping the building, the deputy met with Chevron employees, who determined that three containers of lottery tickets had been stolen. The cash register had also been opened, but money is not kept in it overnight.
An estimate for the value of the stolen lottery tickets was not available and no arrests had been made at the time of the report.
