Body found in righthand lane of I-75

Law enforcement personnel from the Emerson Police Department, the Georgia State Patrol and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation search the northbound shoulder of Interstate 75 at Mile Marker 282 for clues and evidence pertaining to the discovery of a body found there Wednesday morning.
A man was found dead Wednesday morning in the righthand lane of Interstate-75 northbound between mile marker 282 and exit 283.

Multiple agencies responded to the call at around 7:45 a.m.

The cause of death was unconfirmed as of Wednesday night, but the man was hit by at least one car.

Authorities did not find an abandoned car in the area.

Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton said there was a wallet with identification found on the man, but the body was so traumatized after being struck that his identity cannot be totally confirmed.

The identification found on the body was of a white man who was born in 1989.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said a positive I.D. will be made after an autopsy today.
