A small two-seater airplane crashed Tuesday afternoon at 122 Milam Bridge Road in Euharlee, seriously injuring both occupants.

Upon arrival, Bartow County Emergency Medical Services crews discovered the heavily damaged aircraft and began a search for survivors, according to BCEMS spokeman Brad Cothran.

Two survivors, both males, were located — one with trauma injuries so severe that an Air Life helicopter was called, and another with numerous although not as severe injuries — and the crews began administering trauma protocol treatment.

The first victim was flown to Grady Hospital trauma center and the second victim was taken by ambulance to Floyd Medical Center in Rome. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
